(APP) - The Ministry of Finance categorically refuted claims by some media that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) would send an SOS mission to Pakistan because of the financial results of 2018-2019 and that the program could renegotiate
"It is stated that both statements are completely incorrect and are not based on real realities," the ministry said in a statement released.
He said the next IMF mission was a staff visit and coincided with the visit of the Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Department for the Middle East and Central Asia.
The Director's visit to Pakistan was scheduled for September after the end of the program, adding that it was absolutely wrong to interpret the fact that the IMF staff mission was an SOS-type mission, since it had been planned since long time. .
The statement that the IMF program was renegotiating was also wrong, he added.
"The Pakistani government remains firmly committed to implementing the policies and reforms set out in the IMF-supported program," he added.
